Our support groups provide a vital lifeline for those facing cancer or caring for a loved one on this journey. We are deeply grateful to these two incredible individuals who generously volunteer their time to facilitate these groups. Thank you both for your dedication and compassion!

Breast Cancer Support Group Facilitator | 1 year volunteering
What inspired you to start volunteering at CWC?
I was in search of a volunteer role to work with breast cancer patients on the Cape. When I learned of CWC and their mission, it was an immediate connection. I am SO onboard with the mission and knew this was the amazing organization that I wanted to be involved with.
What’s a memorable experience you’ve had while volunteering?
The genuine HUGS that I receive from the many wonderful people I've had the pleasure to meet, through my volunteer role, are the most memorable experiences.
How has volunteering at CWC impacted you personally?
My volunteer role at CWC is certainly one of the most rewarding things I have done. Volunteering and giving back to the community have always been important to me. I am passionate about doing my part to be sure that no one has to navigate a breast cancer diagnosis on their own. Just knowing that I am able to help in some way is HUGE.
What would you say to someone thinking about volunteering?
I would strongly encourage them to get involved! The fact that you are helping someone, in some way, is enough to make you feel good all over. We all need to come together, as a community, and look out for one another. If the day should come when you need help, someone will be there to offer help to you.
When I’m not at CWC you will find me ______________
Hiking, walking the beach, on the pickleball courts, or just simply enjoying the outdoor beauty of the Cape.

Caregiver Support Group Facilitator & Wellness Eats Volunteer
What inspired you to start volunteering at CWC?
I was inspired by Sarah Swain and the movie Rise Up about her experience with breast cancer. My mother also had breast cancer and I was so impressed by Sarah’s dedication to helping others navigate the disease.
What would you say to someone thinking about volunteering?
I first got involved at CWC in the Wellness Eats program, and love to cook with that group when it fits with my schedule. A great bunch of volunteers and I would encourage anyone who’s thinking about volunteering to consider it. Fun and extremely gratifying!
How has volunteering at CWC impacted you personally?
I absolutely love facilitating the Caregiver Support Group. People truly understand and care about each other. It’s heartwarming to be a part of it.
When I’m not at CWC you will find me ______________
Great opportunities for all my interests (reading, knitting, walking, music) on Cape Cod.
